Graig Sneed's Stock Car -
Graig is from Springfield, Missouri, and now is a crew chief for a successful local late-model race team.
In Graig's own words:
"The stock car started as a challenge from John MacGowan to build a old dirt car in one month. This was a fun project even knowing that I would get shown up in the end. It started as the AMT Buick Skylark Modified stocker. I added a motor from the Revell-Monogram Yenko Camaro, to which I added a lot of aftermarket parts. I added a scratchbuilt roll cage and some parts from the aftermarket to complete the interior. Tires and wheels came from a ASA kit. The paint is automotive laquer and the decals are from Slixx."

Once again, Graig has done some basic tricks to make this model look correct. The exhaust
through the fender, with weathering, is a subtle, but important detail. This model takes
me back to my own racing roots in western Pennsylvania. Has anyone out there ever heard of
Blackie Watt?
That's a Parts By Parks air cleaner, and looks right on a saturday night special like
this, with Detail Master breather caps, oil cap, and radiator hose fitting.
Here's the carb detail. Also notice the Detail Master distributor, ignition wire, and wire
looms. The throttle spring is appropriately handwound and stretched. A neat touch is the
air cleaner mounting bolt.

Graig is crew chief for the Archie Griffin Racing Team, out of the Springfield, Missouri area. Currently they run a Monte Carlo late model. The truck is for the 2000 season.
