The "Old Reliable" team of Ammom R Smith, Dave Strickler and Bill Jenkins began a string of victories and championships that actually started in 1961. With Dave driving, they achieved great sucess with the Chevy's, particularly the Camaro's, in the late 6o's. All their hard work culminating in a World Championship in 1968. As an ambassador of Chevrolet's Racing Performance, Dave Strickler won 16 National Class Championship titles, set 41 national and World records and was elected to the Super Stock Hall of Fame, NHRA, NED and the EMPA Hall of Fame. Dave's 1969 Camaro was one of the fastest Camaro's he ever raced. Powered by a big block 396 cu inch Chevy engine, this camaro was timed a 131.05 MPH for another record!
